Due to many formative years spent watching Saved by the Bell, we have a soft spot for people named Zack (or Zac or Zach or Zak), so yeah, we’re a bit psyched that Zach Shallcross is the new Bachelor, I guess!
As you’re likely well aware, Zach showed up during Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia’s season of The Bachelorette, got pretty serious with Rachel, and was named the latest Bachelor during “After the Final Rose.” And now that his own season debuts tonight (!!!!), we figured you’d wanna know all the intel on him before then. Here we go!
He’s a Tech Exec From Anaheim Hills, California
Not sure what “tech exec” means, exactly, but it sounds promising—especially considering Zach is only 26. He appeared to live in Texas for some time but was probs hopping and bopping around during filming. Now that that’s over, we can’t say for sure where Zach is, but we *do* know that he spends a lot of time with his family back home:

He also used to be a football player before making the pivot to “tech exec”:
He’s an Old-Fashioned Dude Who Loves His Mom
Zach is an old-school romantic who “loves his mama, his dogs, and football.” But fear not! He apparently has “more love to go around.”
ABC’s bio writer (always praying for you, friend!) also describes him as “charismatic” and “personable,” saying he has a “huge heart that he is so ready to share forever with the right woman.” So...what’s he looking for in a partner, you ask?
He Wants Someone Who Is Ready for Romance
Basically, this man wants to give his girlfriend/wife love, gifts, and nonstop romance, so...sounds like a huge catch. Ahem:
“Zach’s perfect woman is compassionate, kind, and ready for romance because Zach is excited to lay it on thick. He loves to plan thoughtful surprises, and nothing makes him happier than seeing the look of excitement on his partner’s face when his meaningful gifts are appreciated. Zach is serious about finding a love that will lead to marriage, so whatever grand romantic gesture it takes for him to get there, he’s ready to go!”
Based on this, the spoiler that’s coming shouldn’t be a huge surprise...
He Made It to Rachel’s Final Four
And he left during a pretty dramatic exit.
A refresher? Rachel revealed that she had “concerns with the age part” of their ’ship and he wound up leaving. However, in part one of the finale, we were also clued in to where the two stand today. “I just want to say that I do apologize for ever making you feel like I called you out for your character,” Zach began. “That’s the last thing I wanted. I was kind of in shock and disbelief in what was happening between us. I am so sorry.” Rachel responded by saying that the goodbye “was really hard for me to watch back” because her feelings for the tech executive were definitely “real.”
Yikes! Bad because they broke up, but good because...
Reality Steve Started EARLY With the Spoilers
Not only did our absolute fave gossip king Reality Steve prove to be right when he predicted that Zach would be the season 27 Bachelor, but he also dropped two preeeeetty major bombshells back in October about how things would go down during Zach’s season 👀:
(SPOILER): A little teaser about Zach’s season: a former Bachelor & BIP contestant shows up during the first group date after party of the season to seemingly try and throw her hat into the ring and become one of Zach’s women. It didn’t go well for her.
